According to Guy Nadivi, director of business development at Ayehu, RPA is often used for specific business functions such as customer service, accounting and staffing.
The most common uses include tasks that “usually involve work that transmits information from one system to another,” Nadivi told business.com. A common example would be taking normal hours, overtime hours, [and] time sickness from a time card, associating with someone, and then putting those numbers in the lead system. Some have argued that the most accurate term for this category software may be ‘default writing process.’ ”
No matter what the technology is used for, the ever-changing state of the art and the well-functioning software means RPA can ultimately manage complex tasks. Shay Antebi, chief technology officer at Kryon Systems, believes that will be the case because “it’s still a new technology.”
“I think we only scratched what the RPA could do,” he said. “RPA is an excellent time loading technology, repetitive processes that can undermine productivity or create boredom for human resources.”
